autumn/winter news
KiwiRail. Continuation of our briefs on the Auckland Electrification Project consisting of Survey work on the rail network intended to be electrified, including bridges, level crossings, tunnels and platforms. This included control and 3D modelling.
Civil and Structural Engineering. We have been undertaking civil, structural, hydraulic and pavement engineering on Masterton Road Rothesay Bay, Rahui Road Greenhithe, Beach Road Long Bay and Oteha Valley Road. These works have included Resource Consents, Engineering Design, Preparation of Contract Documentation and Contract Supervision Services.
Land Development.
Thurlow note the release of North Shore City Council, Plan Change 32 decision. Thurlow were involved in preparing a detailed submission and presentation during the hearing process. Plan Change 32 among other things re zoned land in the Lonely Track/Fairview Avenue area. Clients that may wish to object should contact us in regard to this, as it is likely that Thurlow will be objecting to the Environment Court on a number of contentious issues that are generated out of this intended plan change.
Super City on its Way! The Super City will be with us all by November 2010 and certainly, this impending event is having real impact on both consent processing and hesitancy on procurement from the individual authorities, which will be amalgamated.
Our Director Ross Thurlow attended the SIGIE (Special Interest Group for Immigrant Engineers) forum where John Banks was secured to present on the impact of the Super City and the provision of Engineering Services. Unfortunately, as with all Politicians this rhetoric got in the way of the ‘substance’ and all that was gleaned was Mr Banks election platform!
