Thurlow Consulting Engineers and Surveyors Ltd provides innovative, practical and cost-effective solutions for a range of projects – from the everyday to the most challenging.
As a professional engineering and land surveying practice, we work across the board on projects that include roading, subdivisions, infrastructure and municipal engineering, resource consent applications, structural engineering, scientific reporting and project administration.
The company’s team of chartered professional surveyors and engineers is highly qualified and experienced in handling all aspects of your projects including engineering, surveying and resource management - from conception through to completion.
Established in 1994 by Ross Thurlow, the company’s Principal, Thurlow Consultants today has its office in Albany, just north of Auckland. A second office is located a little further north in Orewa.
Our clients are national and international and include developers and local authorities. Recent projects have been located in American and Western Samoa, Tonga and Nuie.
We love a challenge!
Over a decade in business, we have earned a well-deserved reputation for design and for implementing innovative solutions for even the toughest and most unusual of engineering and land surveying projects. For example, we have completed the design, layout and engineering of a large cemetery – the Auckland Memorial Park – in Silverdale, and we completed a scientific project that required us to determine the trajectory of a range of golf balls – and we thrived on the challenge of both!
Our most recent achievement is the supply of Topographical Surveying of the Auckland Rail Corridor for commuter train electrification.
Open communication – an integral part of our process
We offer our clients a straightforward and productive communication process throughout the duration of a project. It is our policy for each client to communicate directly with one of our Registered Professional Surveyors or Chartered Professional Engineers. This one-to-one project management approach enables our clients to draw on the experience of the surveyor and/or engineer best qualified to handle each aspect of a specific project while communicating through a key ‘team leader’ who tracks and understands the project in its entirety.
Our clients include many Local and Regional Authorities
We use high quality technology
We operate 12d and Civil 3D and other calculation programmes for engineering design work, and use Total Station Surveying and GPS Surveying equipment.
